Senior Risk Partner
Our client is a leading international banking organization that is currently strengthening and expanding its 1st Line of Defence structures in Poland. As part of a 1st Line of Defence risk management function, this role is responsible for supporting sound non-financial risk management and fostering an open, consistent, and proactive risk culture across Personal Customers, Large Corporates & Institutions, and Business Customers, while enabling effective risk identification, assessment, and management in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a professional 1st LoD risk partner, managing traditional risk assessment and management disciplines, including:
- Risk Assessments: Coordinate, drive, and support tribes in completing mandatory risk assessments and obtaining required approvals via existing governance structures.
- Product Management: Support product owners throughout the product lifecycle to ensure appropriate risk governance and regulatory compliance.
- Observation Management, Oversight, and Reporting: Monitor authority orders, audit and compliance observations, backlogs, high-risk items, remediation activities, etc. Ensure effective follow-up and guidance by supporting tribes during audits, compliance reviews, and mitigation efforts.
- Incident Management: Review and escalate cases, initiate remediation activities, support mitigation efforts, and proactively identify trends.
- Risk Awareness & Training: Drive awareness through meetings and regular business updates.
- Advisory: Proactively advise the business on trends, providing insight into market signals aligned with the risk and control landscape and the bank’s risk tolerances.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in non-financial risk management, compliance, or related fields, preferably within financial institutions or consultancy, and be able to work independently as well as in cross-border teams.
- Understanding of the business operating and service model, customers, products, services, and processes of Personal Customers, Large Corporates & Institutions, and/or Business Customers is an advantage, especially Channels & workflow including processes.
- Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving, with high attention to detail and a curious mindset.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at various levels.
- Fluency in English.
- Ability to thrive in a changing environment and embrace opportunities brought by change or digital evolution (e.g., GenAI).
- An open and inclusive mindset to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the Nordic countries, Poland, Lithuania, and India.
