About the Role

We are looking for an Engineer - Proofpoint Email Security to join our cybersecurity team. In this role, you will design, implement, and manage email security solutions, ensuring our systems are resilient against evolving threats such as malware, phishing, and social engineering attacks. You will work closely with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams to maintain a secure and compliant email environment, leveraging your expertise to improve technology, processes, and overall security posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage email security solutions, primarily using Proofpoint.
• Maintain and prioritize engineering backlog; manage vendor relationships for owned technologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and integrate security into projects.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies and practices to strengthen security capabilities.
• Work closely with control owners, service owners, and technology owners to assess performance, address risks, and resolve technical issues.
• Drive data protection initiatives, ensuring compliance with global regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and internal security standards.
• Respond to security incidents promptly, minimizing potential impact on business and customers.
• Coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of email security threats, solutions, and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of email systems, SMTP, Exchange Online, and email security layers.
• Hands-on experience with Proofpoint or similar email security platforms.
• Knowledge of email threat protection, DLP, encryption, and data classification technologies.
• Experience in large enterprise or highly regulated environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices.
• Experience with cloud and SaaS environments is a plus.

Preferred Experience

• Working in high-performing cybersecurity teams.
• Engineering experience in delivering projects and production support.
• Familiarity with large enterprise mail architecture and information security practices.
